Overtaking the Light

from Permeates by Where You Last Left It

/

lyrics

Despite their up's and down's,
they've know love in their lives
even if it's just a memory
clutched in the night,
even if their lives
threaten to overtake their light.
Things mightn't be the same
but there's gotta be
some hope
or what's the point?

I have to avoid
being a fishwife,
gutting the whole world whole.
I have to stop
the world fucking with me
recognise some control.
I have to write
love stories
to fill me with what I don't know.
I have to hope
that someday soon...

I have to invent
imaginary equals to myself.
I have to write
love songs
to live through someone else.
I have to see
things through,
on paper at least.
More and more,
these protagonists
get more like me.

Where You Last Left It Dublin, Ireland

Electroniques de la nuit. Pre-eclampsyian oddities. Curious hand shapes. Little comets of button-bashing.
